About Own the Podium
Own the Podium (OTP) is an innovative and collaborative initiative without precedent in Canadian Sport. It was created to bring together the key partners involved in leading and funding excellence in Canadian sport, with specific emphasis on achieving excellence at Summer and Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Scope of Position:
Take the first step in building a career in sport administration as part of the Own the Podium (OTP) team. As OTP Data Analyst Intern, you will provide support for international competition results and data entry within the newly designed technical database. You will assist in the Intelligence and Performance Analysis department and provide overall support as required. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, self-motivated, and creative, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task.
Core Competencies:
• Candidates for the position should possess strong administrative and organizational skills and an independent work ethic.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and Outlook.
• The ability to work under pressure, maintain tight schedules and work flexible hours in a dynamic team environment.
• Energetic, self-motivated and possessing a winning attitude while excelling in a professional working environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Work with OTP staff assisting with data requirements, interface designs, and data conversion efforts.
• Enter international performance data, competition schedules and results, as well as other pertinent data into OTP’s integrated database.
• Analyze data in the database and share information with OTP’s High Performance Advisors (HPAs) and senior leadership.
• Prepare data reports including graphic presentation of international performance data.
• Develop stored procedures, reports, and maintain data integrity to ensure accuracy of competition data.
• Participate, when appropriate, in special projects and other responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma
• Enrollment in a sport administration program or related field of studies
• Knowledge of the Canadian sport system
• Experience with working in a database environment is an asset
• Computer skills and knowledge of the MS Office Suite is required.
• Bilingualism is an asset
Compensation
An honorarium of up to $250 a month will be provided based on a successful internship and evaluation.

As OTP Intern, you will provide support for the progress of the newly designed technical database, help in the financial administration department and the overall support of the office environment. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, self-motivated, creative, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task.
