Own the Podium is committed to providing a quality sport experience free of abuse, harassment or discrimination. Own the Podium takes any situation involving misconduct very seriously and believes everyone should be able to enjoy sport in a safe and respectful environment.
Own the Podium has adopted the Canadian Safe Sport Program (CSSP), which is in effect as of April 1, 2025.
Through the CSSP Rules, the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) independently administers the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport (UCCMS) for federally funded, national-level sport organizations by receiving and responding to reports of prohibited behaviour, and by developing and carrying out education, prevention, and policy activities.
The CSSP Rules clearly and publicly set out how that will be done, including defined timelines at each stage of the reporting process. The CSSP also offers support services to connect participants with help along the way.

Safe Sport is a collective responsibility. By reporting concerns of maltreatment in sport, you are contributing to building a safer sport environment.
Own the Podium’s policies - including its Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy and Discipline & Complaints Policy - reflect and support the CSSP.
Sport participants have the right to train and compete in safe and supportive environments. It is important to report maltreatment to help build a safe sport system in Canada.
The CCES independently administers the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport (UCCMS) for federally funded national-level sport organizations through the Canadian Safe Sport Program (CSSP). We receive and respond to reports about individuals who may have engaged in prohibited behaviour under the UCCMS.
